Gingerbread Traditions, Inc. (GTI) is the largest U.S.-based manufacturer and wholesaler of premium, aromatic, edible gingerbread houses and bulk gingerbread house kits. We specialize in shipping bulk orders of assembled and unassembled gingerbread houses, house parts, and gingerbread house kits in bulk. Our Executive Chef-quality gingerbread products turn large decorating events into extraordinary, memorable occasions.
Whether you need 100 or 1,000 units, we ship directly to country clubs, athletic clubs, destination resorts, children’s museums, botanical gardens, community events, corporations, and more each holiday season. In addition to houses and kits, we produce over 10,000 gingerbread men cookies annually for our customers.
A Rich Tradition of Gingerbread
Decorating gingerbread houses is a beloved holiday tradition with deep roots. Historians trace gingerbread back to the ancient Egyptians, who used it ceremonially. Around 2400 B.C., the ancient Greeks crafted the first gingerbread recipes. This tradition continued through colonial North America, where gingersnap cookies became popular Christmas tree decorations. The art of building decorated gingerbread houses began in early 1800s Germany.
